Cub Scouts

Pack 611 is a Cub Scouts Pack that is sponsored by and meets at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin and is affiliated with the Coyote Creek District of the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council.

Like all Packs, the Pack is divided into “Dens” comprised of five to 10 Cubs. The Dens meet weekly at the Education Building classrooms on Fridays. The Den Meetings are lead by the adult Den Leaders. Additionally, the Pack meets together in a Pack meeting monthly in the Betsuin Gymnasium. In addition, the Parents and the Den Leaders have monthly meetings.

The Pack is lead by the Parent Committee Chair and the Cubmaster. The Parent Committee Chair is responsible for the fundraising and setting up special activities such as the Pinewood Derby and the Blue & Gold Dinner whereas the Cubmaster is responsible for the Den and Pack Meetings.

Started in 1969, Pack 611 is one of the larger Packs in the Coyote Creek District and is known for being especially active.  For example, Pack 611 was the leading Pack in Coyote Creek District and second in the entire Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council for Popcorn Fundraising in 2011!

The Parents and the Den Leaders communicate using respective Yahoo groups.
