Classes

Sundays – 10:10 AM – 11:00 AM

Religious education is offered for pre-school and school-aged children from the ages of 3 through 18. Classes are generally divided by grade level, except for Pre-School and High School which are multi-aged. Teachers are generally lay members of the Sangha who volunteer their time. Classes are held in pre-assigned class rooms immediately following the Dharma School Service.

The Dharma School classes participate in several of the special services conducted throughout the year. The children are thus introduced to and taught about Buddhism through Dharma talks, lecture, crafts, music, and activities. From time to time there may be field trips to other temples or local sites of interest.

Betsuin membership is not required for your child to attend. However, we require every student to register.

The Dharma School year loosely mirrors the academic school year starting in September and ending in early June.

The Dharma School Parent Organization (DSPO) is the organization of the parents of Dharma School students. It organizes the cross-walk and provides the after-school snacks and any additional adult supervision and/or activities as needed.
